Athletics Policies
Calvary Chapel Junior High offers a wide variety of interscholastic sports. Sharing the philosophy of Calvary Chapel High, we believe that through the medium of sports, athletes can learn spiritual, physical, and mental disciplines not easily acquired through other means. CCJH, serving as the primary feeder program to the high school, endeavors to develop and cultivate these disciplines in our athletes. In practice this means fielding coaches who are strong in the Christian faith, capable in their field, contagious in their enthusiasm, able to lead, and instruct.

All sports are extracurricular. Our hope is that all students are able to participate in sports. However, there may be reasons a student is not eligible to play sports. First, students that are not fulfilling academic standards will not be eligible to play sports. Students desiring to play sports must maintain a 2.0 GPA or above as well as no F's in individual classes. This will be reviewed every six weeks. Second, students that have not paid the sports fees will not be able to participate in sports.

The athletic director, coaches, and administration will try to resolve any scheduling conflicts. However, games will be forfeited in the event of schedule conflict with academics, ceremonies, events, and or school camps.

We are not able to change class schedules because of sports schedules. All student athletes must weigh the challenge of playing sports and keeping up their academic responsibilities. It is the duty of the student athlete to find out make up work and turn it in an appropriate manner.

Calvary Chapel Junior High Sports

The following sports are offered to the Junior High students:

Boys' Baseball
Boys' and Girls' 'Basketball
Boys' Flag Football
Boys' and Girls' Soccer
Girs' Softball
Boys' and Girls’ Track and Field
Boys' and Girls' Volleyball

Practice time for all sports is Monday–Friday, 3:15 P.M. to 5:15 P.M. Game times are usually 3:30 P.M. The respective coaches will inform the teams of game schedules. Transportation to the games will be by bus, van, or carpool. There will be an athletic fee that varies for each sport in addition to uniform cost.

All students and parents are expected to represent Christ, our school, and church in a respectful manner. Those that do not honor God through their behavior may be asked to leave temporarily or permanently. Our witness might be the only one some people see. We must always be mindful of our reputation and witness as a school.
