Purpose and Vision
Calvary Chapel Junior High was established in 1973 to meet the educational, social, and spiritual needs of the children of Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa, pastored by Pastor Chuck Smith. We are a Christian school that seeks to minister to the needs of the body. All of our classes are taught by teachers that love Jesus, love teaching, and love their students. It is our desire to build a solid foundation of knowledge while also ministering to the needs of the whole child. We do not seek those that do not have a relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. We desire students that will honor God, respect others, grow daily, and enjoy the life God has given them. All of our classes are taught by teachers that love Jesus, love teaching, and love their students. We seek to build a solid base of knowledge while ministering to the needs of the whole child. We look daily to teach the truth, encourage a life of faith and godliness, form healthy personal relationships, and facilitate personal growth. We seek to provide ministry to our students in the following four areas: Honor God in all we do. This is our number one priority. Out of this desire to seek first the kingdom of God, we feel that the Lord will direct and bless the work of our hands. Honoring God has to do with our worship and service, our attitude and care for others, and the excellence that we offer to Him in our daily tasks and duties. The aspiration to honor God first compels us to seek the Lord and His Word in all we undertake. Respect others. We are created in the image of God, and we have been bought with the precious blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore we recognize the inestimable value of people and those things that belong to people. We are all important and treasured by God and need to reflect that in our words, attitudes, and actions. Grow daily. In God's wisdom, He has created us to learn and grow. We want to see each of our students grow physically, socially, spiritually, and academically. We provide many opportunities to stimulate this growth. Sports programs and daily PE classes encourages physical growth. Daily Bible classes, chapels, camps, and service incites spiritual growth in our student body. We provide opportunities in the form of various clubs, group learning, and activities for promoting social development. Our high standard of scholastic achievement with classroom discussions, reports, projects, and homework assignments incite the growth in the academic arena. Enjoy life. Jesus said His desire is that through obedience our joy might be full. As our students fulfill the above ideals, they will be able to experience and enjoy the joy of which Jesus speaks in John 15:11. We hope that amidst the rigor and demand of their school life they might know that they are loved, supported, and encouraged. Our trip to Washington DC, our various lunch time activities, pep rallies, spirit week, and other events throughout the year help our students to enjoy their junior high journey. |
